An hour from central London, Purdey At The Royal Berkshire Shooting Grounds offers some of the finest clay and game shooting experiences in the UK. When it comes to traditional British activities that make the best of the countryside, clay and game shooting – or English sporting for our international guns – is one of the most enjoyable.
The Location
The grounds at Royal Berkshire extend over a downhill valley with plenty of mature woodland, quintessential English countryside that offers a variety of shooting drives. Located 50 miles west of London, the Shooting School is just 10-minutes from Pangbourne train station or a short drive from Junction 12 of the M4.

The Calibre Club
The Calibre Club is a wonderful members club which brings likeminded shooting enthusiasts together. Whether you are a keen game or clay shot or simply enjoy being a part of the shooting community, then this is the membership for you.
Simulated Game Days
From February to October the Shooting School team hosts the simulated game Really Wild clay shooting days for groups and individuals across some of the finest estates in the Home Counties and Cotswolds, simulating wild bird shooting experiences that are just as exhilarating as the real thing.

Explore new and used guns, with expert advice on the model and fit that best suits, plus the option to test them out on our grounds; and find the best selection of outdoor clothing, accessories and gifts made for the sporting life.
The Handicap Challenge 2025
Purdey at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School are pleased to announce that the Handicap Challenge 2025 will run from Monday 3rd February to Saturday 12th April with the Final being held on Thursday 1st May.
