The Handicap Challenge Final 2026
We were delighted to welcome our 2026 Finalists to PRB on 8th May, to see who would walk away with the prizes. The weather behaved, and after stands which were described by many as ‘challenging but fun’, the winners were decided:
Top Gun at the Final
This was awarded to Stuart Hutchings who, with a score of 67 plus his PRB handicap of 29, beat the field with an overall score of 96. He collected his prize of an IWC Top Gun Pilot’s Watch, plus a Cromwell Technical Jacket and Trousers from James Purdey & Son and 1000 Gamebore White Gold Cartridges.
Second Gun in the Final
After a shoot off, Jamie Brightman, with a total score of 91, was declared the winner of a Blaser F16 Sporter Shotgun, Purdey Gloucestershire Jacket and 500 Gamebore White Gold Cartridges.
Third Gun in the Final
Narrowly beaten by Jamie in the shootoff, Darren Dadswell, who also posted 91, took home £500 plus 500 Gamebore White Gold Cartridges.
Top Qualifying Lady Gun
By shooting 83, with a handicap of 11, Jennie Cartwright was the top lady and wins a Purdey Women’s Lightweight Tweed Field Coat in Acorn.
For Straighting the Grouse during the qualifying weeks
Chris Childerhouse took home a Purdey Men’s Jameson Gilet.
Top Qualifying Score ex Handicap
The prize of £350 went to Keith Evans, who shot an astounding 98 in week 4 of the qualifiers.
