A New Look For Purdey at the Royal Berkshire
This year we’re undertaking an exciting refurbishment of the Shooting School, building on our foundations to create the best simulated shooting grounds in the UK and a world-class experience. Throughout, Purdey at the Royal Berkshire will remain open for you to enjoy tuition, charity and corporate events as usual.
The Location
The grounds at Royal Berkshire extend over a downhill valley with plenty of mature woodland, quintessential English countryside that offers a variety of shooting drives. Located 50 miles west of London, the Shooting School is just 10-minutes from Pangbourne train station or a short drive from Junction 12 of the M4.
Private Shooting Tuition
Every client is important to us and so, every lesson is unique. Book a private lesson for invaluable one-on-one focus or make a day of it with our shared and group lessons. You can also take on one of our challenges to put your skills to the test.
Spend Time at The Royal Berkshire
The Royal Berkshire is a hive of activity all year round. Take part in our simulated game days or unique competitions like The Handicap Challenge, join our exclusive Calibre Club, host a corporate or charity day, or spend time in our Gun Room and Country Store to explore guns and clothing with expert advice.
The Calibre Club
The Calibre Club is a wonderful members club which brings likeminded shooting enthusiasts together. Whether you are a keen game or clay shot or simply enjoy being a part of the shooting community, then this is the membership for you.
Simulated Game Days
From February to October the Shooting School team hosts the simulated game Really Wild clay shooting days for groups and individuals across some of the finest estates in the Home Counties and Cotswolds, simulating wild bird shooting experiences that are just as exhilarating as the real thing.
The Handicap Challenge 2025
Purdey at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School are pleased to announce that the Handicap Challenge 2025 will run from Monday 3rd February to Saturday 12th April with the Final being held on Thursday 1st May.
